Use Some WaterSense
Buying a home is an investment in the future—not just yours, but the planet’s too. Manhattan Home Builders has partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) WaterSense® program to offer homes that save you water inside and out.
Planning for Next Generations.
Having the WaterSense label allows you to do more at home while using less water, energy, and money on utilities. Manhattan Home Builders’ WaterSense labeled new homes not only feature quality products and workmanship, but we’ve designed them to use at least 20 percent less water than the typical new home. What’s more, a WaterSense labeled new home that includes WaterSense labeled showerheads and ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances can save a family of four as much as 50,000 gallons of water per year—enough to wash more than 2,000 loads of laundry—and up to $600 annually on utility bills when compared to a traditional home.
Where Can You Save?
Bathroom Faucets: Save nearly 600 gallons of water per year without a noticeable difference in flow with WaterSense labeled faucets. By heating less hot water, they also save energy—enough to power your hair dryer for eight minutes a day all year long! Learn more about WaterSense labeled faucets.
Toilets: Save about 1,500 gallons of water per year with WaterSense labeled toilets. Learn more about WaterSense labeled toilets.
Showerheads: Save more than 2,300 gallons of water per year with WaterSense labeled showerheads. And since using less water while showering also reduces demands on hot water heaters, a household could save almost 300 kilowatt hours of electricity each year as well.
Appliances: If your WaterSense labeled new home comes with an ENERGY STAR® qualified dishwasher and clothes washer, you’re saving water and energy.
Yard: Between 30 and 70 percent of water used at home is used outside. But having a beautiful landscape doesn’t mean it has to use a lot of water. Manhattan Home Builders’ WaterSense labeled new homes feature water-efficient landscaping and irrigation (if an irrigation system is installed). When designing the landscapes for these homes, Manhattan Home Builders has the option of developing an outdoor “water budget” and planning the landscaping accordingly, or ensuring any area they landscape uses a variety of water-efficient plantings and features, with less than 40 percent covered by grass.
Hot Water Delivery System: Manhattan Home Builders’ hot water delivery systems are designed to bring you hot water faster, so you don’t waste water, energy, or time while you wait.
